The Difference Between Vortex flowmeter and turbine flowmeter
There are many kinds of instruments and equipment for industrial flow measurement. In the use of industrial instruments, different instruments and equipment are selected because of different environments. The following introduces the differences between vortex flowmeter and turbine flowmeter.
Vortex flowmeter is designed and manufactured according to Carmen vortex street principle. The principle of fluid oscillation is applied to measure the flow rate. When the fluid passes through the vortex street flow transmitter in the pipeline, two rows of vortices are alternately generated up and down behind the vortex generating body of the triangular column, which are proportional to the flow rate. The release frequency of the vortices is related to the average velocity of the fluid flowing through the vortex generating body and the characteristics of the vortex generating body.It is used for flow measurement of industrial pipeline medium fluid, such as gas, liquid, steam and other media. It is characterized by small pressure loss, large measuring range and high accuracy. It is almost not affected by fluid density, pressure, temperature, viscosity and other parameters when measuring volume flow under working conditions. No movable mechanical parts, so high reliability, small maintenance.
Turbine flowmeter is an instrument which uses multi blade rotor to sense the average velocity of fluid and deduce the flow or total amount. For: petroleum, organic liquid, inorganic liquid, liquefied gas, natural gas, gas and low temperature fluid and other aspects. It has the advantages of simple structure, less processing parts, light weight, convenient maintenance, large circulation capacity and high parameter adaptability.
In the case of full understanding of the working conditions on site, you can choose the appropriate flowmeter to use. In some occasions of measuring liquid medium, vortex flowmeter and turbine flowmeter can be used, for example, in the case of no excessive vibration on site and no interference of strong electromagnetic field, both can be used. The vortex flowmeter can not be used normally when the vibration is too large, the medium viscosity is too large, and it is not suitable to use the turbine flowmeter when the viscosity is too high and the measurement accuracy is required for long-term operation. Because the mechanical parts of the turbine flowmeter are easy to wear, the accuracy needs to be verified regularly, and it can not be used when the machine can not be shut down.
